6 Ways to Supercharge Your Sunday for a Productive and Less Stressful Week Ahead

March 17, 2024 (9mo ago)

a look at my favorite things for a sunday routine

Sundays may just be my favorite day of the week.

It's the one day in the week that I can expect minimum amount of notifications on my phone and pretty much zero social plans, outside of hanging with my fiance.

I mainly plan my Sundays for getting ahead, but with a sprinkle of rest and recovery.

So I'd love to share my favorite way to spend my Sunday with you!

1. Fueling Your Soul with Sundays Reads

I like to start or end the day with a book. Either a fictional book that I'm reading at the time, a personal development book, or a cookbook.

Finding time to read on a Sunday is essential to my mental health. It helps me tune out the world, fill my mind with positive, forward-thinking thoughts and inspires me for greatness to get the week started.

Chances are if I find time read on a Sunday, I'll find time throughout the busy week to pick the book back up again.

Right now I'm reading "Glossy" by Marisa Meltzer. It's the inside story of Emily Weiss's company Glossier.

It's suuuuuch a good read. It's a story I've always been curious about. Emily Weiss is a bad-ass boss babe that truly inspires me to chase my dreams. I'm halfway through the book, but it's definitely a read worth picking up if you want to dive into the world of an ambitious woman who built a billion-dollar beauty empire.

2. Refreshing and Rejuvenating Depuffing Ritual

Another must-do for my Sundays is depuffing. Whether I've indulged in cocktails or not, I just love to de-puff on Sundays. Lately, alcohol hasn't been a big part of my life, and I'm totally fine with that. It's all about different seasons in life, you know? Sometimes it's there more, and other times you're prioritizing your health in different ways.

The Skinny Confidential's Hot Mess Ice Roller

Step one for depuffing is by pulling out The Skinny Confidential's Hot Mess Ice Roller.

It instantly reduces puffiness in my face/neck. It's one of the most therapeutic things you can do for your body, I swear.

A Winning Combo Rehydrating with Redmonds Real Salt x Le Depuff

Step two of depuffing is to dress up my water with Redmonds Real Salt - Ancient Fine Sea Salt, Arrae x The Skinny Confidential's Le Depuff (currently sold out but a must!).

This pumps my body with minerals and completely rehydrates me.

Relaxation Techniques for Better Sleep

Step three of depuffing is to put my legs up on the wall for anywhere between 10-25 minutes. This is something my dad taught me and has many benefits.

  1. improved circulation
  2. reduces stress and anxiety
  3. relieves leg and back discomfort
  4. aids in digestion
  5. reduces swelling in your legs and feet

I love to do this before bed, it makes me so sleepy, and I feel so relaxed and primed for a nice deep sleep.

Habit-Stacking with LED Mask while Having Legs-Up-On-The-Wall

To multi-task and habit-stack, I wear my Dr. Dennis Gross SpectraLite FaceWare Pro while I put my legs up on the wall.

This helps me fight acne and wrinkles. I've been doing this for about 8 months and it's only improved my skin and help shrink my wrinkles. I'll definitely do a whole blog post about this, as I truly believe everyone who cares about their skin needs an LED light mask.

3. Wellness Sundays

Sundays are my recovery days from my strength training sessions. I take Saturdays and Sundays off from strength training and cardio.

Recovery Days and Outdoor Walks

However, I still love to get a big walk in on Sundays if my body is calling for it. My fiance Parker and I love to walk our beautiful downtown of West Palm Beach and Palm Beach. It's our favorite time to talk and bounce ideas off each other for everything we're building and everything we're wanting to accomplish.

I highly recommend taking a nice long(er) walk on Sundays by yourself, with a friend, with your SO. If you go solo it's a nice time to listen to a podcast, call a family member or friend or simply just be present in the moment.

Meditation and Light Flow Classes

If I'm feeling more drained on a Sunday, I love to take a meditation or light flow class. I take these on my Evlo Fitness app. For more information about why I love Evlo and if it may be the right program for you, read my article on it here.

4. Clean Slate Sunday - Deep Cleaning Routines

A nonnegotiable and part of our every Sunday routine is to clean the sheets, and any laundry that needs to be done. We are clean-freaks and are super on-top of keeping our tiny 700 SF apartment clean from head to toe all week long, but on Sundays we do our deep cleaning.

I find it the best time to catch up on some podcasts or call my family and multi-task a little bit.

But like clockwork on Sundays we are cleaning the sheets and the  whole house, it's something that's super therapeutic for us, and something that helps set us up for the best week ahead.

Sundays just feel so fresh and clean.

I also only wash my hair on Sundays, and there's something about going to sleep with clean sheets and clean hair on Sundays that help ease me into Monday.

5. Meal Prep Mastery - Fueling Your Week Ahead

Another way to set your week up for success on a Sunday is to make sure you grocery shop, plan out some meals and cook at home Sunday evening.

Lately we're been making a big greek sheet-pan dinner on Sunday night because it's so easy, healthy, and we have leftovers for days.

This makes it easy to dive into the work week and not have to worry about meals right off the bat.

Here's the recipe, I promise you won't be disappointed! Food by Maria Sheet Pan Gnocchi.

6. Sunday Hydration Heaven

Lastly, but definitely not least because you don't want to be waking up all night is to HYDRATE. I touched on hydration with dressing up your water with salt & a depuff tincture, but you want to be sure you're hitting your water goal before days end.

A lot of research shows that you need to drink half your body weight in ounces per day.

Water is extremely important and I go into it more here in this article.

Cranberry Hydration Elixir by Kroma

But aside for dressing up my water with Redmonds Real Salt and Arrae x The Skinny Confidential's Le Depuff, I am always sure to get my Cranberry Hydration Elixir by Kroma in as well. It has electrolytes, vitamin C and magnesium. It's a little spicy, but also a little sweet. They say it tastes like a "refreshing cranberry with a subtle cayenne kick" and I couldn't agree more. I'm addicted to this elixir. I can't go a day without it.

Trying to get half your body weights worth of water in ounces per day is not always easy. But on Sundays I feel like it's extra important as I'm more in-tune with what my body needs and setting it up for my week of success.

bkr Glass Water Bottle to Keep you Hydrated

A water bottle brand that I love is bkr - a reusable glass water bottle with silicone sleeves. I only drink out of glass and when I fill up my water in this 32oz water bottle, it helps me keep track of how much I'm drinking to better help me achieve my water intake goal.

I try aim to be done with my water goal around 3p, but I'm not always successful with that.

So there you have it, my Sunday routine that sets the tone for the entire week ahead. It's a blend of self-care, productivity, and connection with loved ones that keeps me grounded and inspired. Sundays are my sanctuary. My parasympathetic days.

I hope these insights into my routine inspire you to create your own Sunday rituals that nourish your mind, body, and soul. Here's to Sundays that recharge us and set up for a week of success and fulfillment.
